Been looking into mobile app development for #TEDxTokyo. Personally, I'm not convinced when it comes to mobile apps for events that only occur once a year, have no new material for 10 months. When I go to a conference I might download the app, but I find that I rarely look at it after that.
Based on what I've seen of Mobile Roadie apps it seems that post-event, in-app videos get very few plays/likes/comments. More a case of having-an-app for the sake of having an app.
Personally, I think it would be better to invest in a decent mobile site, which could replicate much of the functionality of an app in any case.
Does anyone know of any examples of event-related apps that have bee a huge hit / add great value (apart from the official TED app which is fueled by a gazillion talks)?
